STUDIES ON PLASTIC MATERIALS:

With the help of our partners, AIP assists you in the choice of your raw materials. This choice can be either for standard materials, or for the development of special thermoplastics.

Compounding is one solution for special requirements as this process permits the mixing by melting of plastic materials and additives. It alters the physical, thermal, electrical or aesthetic properties of the plastic material. The final product is known as a compound or composite.

By including a wide range of fillers, additives and reinforcing agents, we can obtain a wide range of properties including conductivity, fire resistance, resistance to wear, structural and pre-coloured.

The creation of a new material is typified by the following procedure:
  • The production of a specification between the customer, Aip and the partner
  • Our partner produces a preliminary technical data sheet
  • Production of wafers, test pieces, etc.
  • Carrying out tests in relation to the specification (tensile tests, bending, dielectric strength, thermal conductivity, heat resistance, etc.)
  • Production of plates or rings by extrusion-compression (specialist partner) in order to produce preproduction prototypes of functional parts or assemblies. Further info here
